It’s not “just herpes” – but with your help, it can be. Let’s give herpes the one two punch that puts it squarely in the past. It all starts with your ideas. Your voice.

We deserve to be heard. We deserve to be cured.

Herpes Heroes is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by HSV through advocacy for new treatments, public education, and reducing stigma.

We are fighting to be cured:

To stop the spread.

To stop the anxiety and fear.

To reduce healthcare burdens.

To prevent the next generation from inheriting this virus.

For better mental health outcomes.

To save lives.

EVEN IF YOU DON’T HAVE HERPES, SOMEONE YOU LOVE PROBABLY DOES.

Did you know that the prevalence of HSV is rapidly increasing? The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 64.2% of people under age 50 have HSV-1, and 13.3% have HSV-2. In the United States, the CDC estimates 572,000 new genital herpes infections annually among people aged 14 to 49. There are 3.8 billion HSV+ people worldwide, and counting.

Fighting HSV requires a collective effort to demand better treatments, prioritize medical research, and reduce the stigma that keeps this virus hidden in the shadows. This isn’t a matter of “their problem“; it’s our problem, and failing to act only puts more people at risk.

For decades, medical advancements have lagged, leaving billions vulnerable. It’s time we demand progress.

Stand with us in calling for change—for those affected and for the health of all.

OUR MISSION

To fight the stigma, to fight for modern treatments, and to improve the way the healthcare system manages HSV. Our voices have been silenced long enough, and it’s time for HSV to be taken seriously. We are fighting for a cure and improving lives.

It can be. It is primarily spread through skin-to-skin contact, making it highly transmissible. Yes, it’s often sexually transmitted—but casual contact can also expose anyone.
